As per Solicitors Regulation Authority guidance, we publish price information for the services we provide, so you have what you need to decide which service suits you.

All fees quoted exclude VAT (charged at the current rate of 20%) unless stated otherwise. Disbursements payable to third parties are additional.

Property

Residential Conveyancing

Our legal fees for the purchase of a freehold residential property are calculated against the purchase price. Please note 20% VAT is added to all fees below.

Additional conveyancing fees

  • Acting on behalf of your lender (if you have a mortgage): £395 + VAT
  • Search fees: £350 – £400 depending on the searches required
  • Electronic money transfer fee: £20 + VAT per transaction
  • Land Registration fee: payable in accordance with the value of the property. See the HM Land Registry fee scale.
  • Stamp Duty Land Tax (SDLT): depends on purchase price. Use the HMRC SDLT calculator.

Typical timescale: around 4–6 weeks from offer to completion, longer if unforeseen issues arise.

Private Client

Wills & Probate

Grant of Probate is normally a straightforward procedure. Our fixed fees apply where there is a valid Will with only one property, no more than two bank/building society accounts and no intangible digital assets. Fees assume no caveats, no beneficiary disputes, and that no Inheritance Tax or HMRC account is required.

The disbursements figure above (£200) reflects historical court fees. Following the May 2024 increase, the probate court fee is now £300 — your actual disbursements will be higher than the historical figure shown.

Letters of Administration

Fees as per Options A/B above. Additional work to determine the Administrator is charged at £220 per hour + VAT.

Administration of an Estate

Minimum £1,100 + VAT (allowing up to 5 hours' work). Additional work at £220/hour + VAT. For estates exceeding £2,000,000, we may also request a percentage of between 0.5% and 1% of the estate value, plus VAT.

  • Probate court fee (estates over £5,000): £300
  • Additional sealed copies of the Grant: £0.50 each
  • Swear fee per Executor/Administrator: £7

Immigration

Immigration (non-asylum cases)

Price information for the preparation and submission of immigration applications, excluding asylum applications. Our quoted fees include considering documents, attending on clients, taking instructions, providing advice, and preparing & submitting the application.

Fees exclude VAT (added at 20% where applicable — e.g. where the client already has Leave to Remain) and disbursements. Fees may increase for complex cases: first-time vs extension, medical issues, criminal convictions, number of supporting documents, interpreter needs, Home Office interview attendance, or premium/fast-tracked applications.

  • Immigration Health Surcharge (per person per year, where applicable): £1,035 for most adults; £776 for students, under-18s and Youth Mobility applicants
  • Home Office application fees: variable — see gov.uk visa fees
  • Tribunal paper appeal: £80
  • Tribunal oral appeal: £140
  • Judicial Review court fee: £154
  • Application Notice fee (if applicable): £255
  • Independent expert reports (e.g. medical experts, if required): £1,500 – £5,000
  • Translation and interpreter fees: variable, quoted case by case
Criminal Defence

Motoring Offences

Our work on motoring offences is charged by fixed fee. Fees cover considering evidence, advice on plea and likely sentence, where appropriate advice on exceptional hardship or special reasons, and representation at a single hearing.
